Double rifle drilling – L.Schiwy Berlin

This drilling, a historical piece from the Schiwy collection, exemplifies Ludwig Schiwy’s mastery of functional elegance. It combines two rifle barrels with a smoothbore shotgun barrel in a break‑action design, fitted with classical Schiwy‑pattern sidelocks and a side‑mounted Brenneke safety. The robust chopper‑lump barrels include three ejectors, while the action is richly engraved in the house arabesque. The stock, made of selected Turkish walnut with a German cheekpiece, balances refinement and handling. This Drilling remains an outstanding example of Schiwy’s interwar craftsmanship, notable both for its technical quality and its decorative sophistication.
